Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is a concentration of platelets and growth factors created from a small amount of your own blood. Research has shown that increased levels of growth factors can be used to assist in the treatment and recovery of chronic musculoskeletal injuries and acute injuries requiring rapid recovery. By delivering a patient’s own platelet proteins to the site of the injury, an optimal healing environment is created.

In order to facilitate this process, we collect a small amount of blood and spin the sample which separates and concentrates the platelets and other beneficial growth factors from your blood – a process which usually takes less than 30 minutes. This small concentration is then injected into the injured area to promote healing of the tissue.
